It’s hard to know what is fact and fiction. One of the most influential series of books I’ve read related to the facts of Jesus and the Bible is The Case for Faith by Lee Strobel. The audio version is fantastic because you can listen to it in the car or wherever.
This book was created by Lee Stroble, a former atheist and award-winning legal editor of The Chicago Tribune. He decided to go on his own quest as a journalist to figure out whether there is any truth to the story of Jesus and the bible after his wife started to getting involved with a christian lifestyle.
He went around to all the leading experts in the field of history and theology to get to the bottom of what historical basis there is to believe in Jesus and the accuracy of the bible. His findings were astonishing, not only did he conclude that the bible is not only accurate but became a follower of Jesus because of his journey. HIGHLY recommend this book (again audio is fantastic) if you want to get a historical factual perspective on Jesus.
