All it takes is a few genuine seconds. You don’t need to have gone to church your whole life… taken classes, read the whole bible, or literally have any religious background at all. You can have any color skin, any gender, any sexual orientation…. Jesus doesn’t discriminate. He doesn’t judge and accepts everyone right where they are. When I remember this, it almost makes me want to cry. Is it possible that there is really someone out there with that kind of love and acceptance? YES! So whether you want to just dust off what you’ve had in the past with Jesus, reaffirm what you have right now, or want to start a brand new friendship here it is!
Close your eyes and with a genuine heart, sincerely say aloud or in your head:
Jesus I believe in you. Please forgive me. Thank you for all that you have given me. I love you with all my heart. Come into my life and use me. I want to live my life for your purpose and mission. I trust you. Amen.
That’s it! Congratulations! You are now friends with Jesus 🙂 He is there 24hours a day, 365 days a week. Waiting and excited for you to come to him. I try to imagine it like how I am with my own children. No matter what they do or say, I’m always here to love and care for them. I always want to listen to them, I want to give advice to them but above all I want to love them.
I like to picture my relationship with Jesus as something similar to this. He is always there as my protector, mentor, and friend. He wants to get close to me and the only way I can do that is with a continuous relationship, just like anyone I want to be close with on this earth.
